Drawing

The Measure 32 Design 7A drawings for the Iowa class battleships dated January 19, 1944. The Measure 32 colors are dull black (BK), ocean gray (5-O) and light gray (5-L) vertically with a pattern of deck blue (20-B) and ocean gray on the horizontal surfaces. This drawing was sent to USS Wisconsin (BB-64) on April 20, 1944, but was never used by her.

The first version of Design 7A seems to have been for the Bogue class escort carriers on September 4, 1943, using Measure 33 colors. Then probably in November 1943, Design 7A was redrawn for the Independence class light carriers also in Measure 33. On January 19, 1944, Design 7A was drawn up for the Iowa class battleships as above using Measure 32 colors.
