An aerial view of Benham from the port bow on January 8, 1944 outside of New York. Benham is not quite complete, the twin 40mm has not been installed on the after deckhouse. The deck is in the bright sun so the deck blue and ocean gray on the deck may blend together, but I think no pattern has been painted yet .

USS Benham (DD-796) again from the air outside New York on January 8, 1944. The deck color here appears to be solid deck blue. The haze gray is reflective and almost appears light enough to be light gray.

This is probably USS Benham (DD-796) even though the hull number is not clear. This was originally a color photograph and the color has deteriorated so that only black and white is left. This was taken from the USS New Mexico (BB-40) probably some time in June 1944.

An unidentified Fletcher with square bridge in camouflage Design 2C viewed from the USS Birmingham (CL-62) on June 14 or 15, 1944. The only square bridge Fletchers known, or reported, in 2C were Charles J. Badger and Benham. Badger at this time was stationed in Alaska, so this probably is Benham.

The medium color ocean gray (5-O) is not resolvable here. The only square bridge Fletchers known, or reported, in 2C were Charles J. Badger and Benham. Badger at this time was in Alaska, so this probably is USS Benham (DD-796).
