Notation

Indicates the date that the Bureau of Ships sent to the ship or shipyard drawings and instructions to paint that camouflage design. That directive was usually followed and camouflage completion photos were returned to the Bureau. For the rows that are marked red, no verification memos or photos have yet been found.
Indicates the earliest date that memos or photos confirm painting in that design.
Not applicable.
No assignment yet found.
Indicates date commissioned, if after 1/1/45, ship may not have worn Measure 31-32-33 while commissioned. Exceptions were landing craft in Measure 31.

Footnotes

A Buships speedletter to AO-21 of the AO-9 class on 6/10/44 stated that camouflage drawings were being produced for all classes of ships and that until plans were received ships were to remain in Measure 21 in the Pacific Fleet. It is possible that no drawing for this ship was ever sent.
AO-47 was sent 32/6AO on 6/26/44, but was painted in 32/5AO by 7/17/44.
AO-54 painted in 33/1AO from SHIPS-2 in late 1943, was sent 32/3AO drawing on 12/11/43 and reported painting in 32/3AO on 12/14/43 in Norfolk.
A memo on 4/14/44 from BuShips to AO-65 indicates AO-65 was sent drawing 32/3D, but a 3D drawing for a T2 tanker class has not yet been found. (Perhaps it is a typo and should be 3AO.)
AO-71 was sent 32/7AO on 4/20/44, but could not paint until 9/20/44 at San Pedro. Then AO-71 was sent 32/5AO on 12/12/44; on 1/16/45 AO-71 asked BuShips if she should paint in 5AO and BuShips instructed by speedletter on 2/14/45 to paint in Measure 21.
AO-87 was sent 32/5AO on 2/25/44, but photos show 32/3AO.
Manitowoc Shipyard requested from BuShips on 4/12/44 if AOG-11 should be painted 32/3D; the Shipyard was notified by speedletter on 4/21/44 that 32/3D was appropriate and then BuShips sent the 32/3D drawing on 6/5/44.
AOG-21 was originally sent 32/8AO on 7/8/44, but later on 8/9/44 was sent 32/16D.
AOG-22 was originally sent 32/8AO on 7/8/44, but painted 32/16D later.
Drawing was sent with instructions to use navy blue (5-N) instead of dull black (BK).
