A July 11, 1944 speedletter #01996 from Commander in Chief Atlantic Fleet (CinCLant) requested BuShips to paint all destroyer escorts under construction and assigned to Atlantic Fleet in camouflage 32/3D.
Assigned to Design in Commander Service Force Pacific Fleet (ComServPac) 10/11/43 letter #0937 to BuShips.
Reassigned to a new Design by the BuShips 6/10/44 memo to ComServPac that listed ships that had been reassigned from the 10/11/43 letter #0937.
DE-18 was sent drawing 31/1D on May 31, 1944, but was listed in the BuShips 6/10/44 memo to ComServPac as reassigned to 31/21D.
DE-42 was assigned 31/16D by the BuShips 6/10/44 memo to ComServPac, but was sent 31/21D on 8/1/44.
DE-44 was sent drawing 31/22D on February 1, 1944, but was listed in the BuShips 6/10/44 memo to ComServPac as reassigned to 31/11D. One undated photo shows DE-44 in 31/22D.
DE-256 was sent Design 31/13D on 1/6/44 and was painted by May 1944, but was reassigned to 31/10D in BuShips 6/10/44 letter to ComServPac.
DE-261 was assigned Design 32/9D by BuShips 6/10/44 memo to ComServPac that listed ships that had been reassigned from the 10/11/43 letter #0937, but on 6/14/44 was sent Design 32/21D instead.
DE-528 and DE-530 were sent Design 31/1D on 4/8/44 and 5/30/44 respectively while assigned to Pacific Fleet, then remained in 1D when assigned to Atlantic Fleet. In late November 1944 repainted in 1D with navy blue and haze gray.
