Notation

Indicates the date that the Bureau of Ships sent to the ship or shipyard drawings and instructions to paint that camouflage design. That directive was usually followed and camouflage completion photos were returned to the Bureau. For the rows that are marked red, no verification memos or photos have yet been found.
Indicates the earliest date that memos or photos confirm painting in that design.
Not applicable.
No assignment yet found.
Indicates date commissioned, if after 1/1/45, ship may not have worn Measure 31-32-33 while commissioned. Exceptions were landing craft in Measure 31.

Footnotes

BuShips sent all recipients of 32/4Ax on 7/19/44 an amended version of drawing 32/4Ax that changed the portside forward panel between the first superstructure deck and the second from 5-L to black.
San Pedro Shipyard was sent 32/18L for AGP-3 on 5/5/44, but AGP-3 responded in a letter to BuShips on 5/9/44 that the drawing was not suitable because it used the profile of an AGP modified from an LST. BuShips sent a speedletter to San Pedro to not use the drawing and paint Measure 21 until a suitable plan could be developed. Finally BuShips sent AGP-3 drawing 31/11P on 7/8/44.
A photo exists showing AS-12 in a pattern similar to 8Ax or 2F, but no drawing or document has been yet found to confirm.
A 5/8/44 memo from AS-15 to BuShips identified AS-15 as being painted in 32/5AS and included photos and a starboard side drawing created by Lt. Cmdr. Dayton R. E. Brown on 4/12/44. Brown was a camouflage officer attached to ComServPac. The photos seem to show the pattern mirrored on the port side. No other copy of this drawing has yet been found.
AS-19 was sent 32/4Ax on 3/27/44, but was photographed in 32/5AS at Midway in May 1944.
IX-110 was sent 32/7Ax on 4/24/44, but appeared on 5/6/44 in 31/9Ax.
